  1. link 1: HYPEBEAST magazine article, a display of a Supreme photography book by David Sims
    http://hypebeast.com/2015/9/supreme-photography-book-david-sims

I figured this would be a good subject for the weeks discussion because the blatant and peculiar obsession and possession of women linked with digital art. This photography book from Supreme, a skate company widely known for their box logo tee shirts as a claim to fame, portrays skaters using female lips with bright red lipstick to skate. While I'm not sure whether the pieces were taken digitally, they were shopped digitally to give that visual sensation of domination. As you get further into the magazine you see more female nudity and other acts of objectification as the men act like obscene skateboarding males posing to be thuggish, by the looks of it. Given the content of the magazine in a correlation with the objectification and utility use of the female body it would be a piece like this that builds theory from our in class discussion of how females are being oppressed by some decisions of digital artists like David Sims, making commercial pieces for giants like Supreme. I'm not posting this to say he's wrong, but it shows the scope of our popular culture and digitally promotes traits of analog forms of art, continuing the human obsession with obscenities in art.

link 2: Disney Animator Speaks on Virtual Drawings
    https://vimeo.com/138790270

In this video we have an animator who works for Disney, significantly know for a style of art sustained over the years with a genuine and wholesome feel. In this video, animator, Glen Keane is expressing the youthful origin and spirit toward his ability of illustration and then begins to share how now this experience has evolved on a virtual and digital platform. This is a good spectacle for the week because it relates to Laura Miller's reading, in the way she expresses the digital world isn't free because it's a reflection. I feel this piece shows how culturally we are still enduring the struggle of containing the physical world into a digital experience. He does a virtual reality, 3- dimensional drawing of a couple of Disney stars and begins to discuss how much better the platform is for the expression of drawing and promoting it's evolution.
